K so my ballet teacher says that I can start pointe this fall, and I really want to but i'm also in track during the spring. There's no conflict in classes or anything like that, but I'm really into track as well (I went to districts this year and I'm a freshman) so I don't want pointe to mess up my running. My feet and ankles are pretty strong, and my arches are good, toes even, all that jazz. I would love lovelove to do both but I don't want to jepordize track-I know that it will damage my feet and am willing to take the consequence..so yeah...10 points for best answer please enlighten me!! lol

  1. You should be fine.  The only things to worry about are blisters, sore toes and feet.  Good luck!

  2. it probably shouldn't affect your track, you may get a lot of blisters and some sore toes, but you should be okay if you do pointe correctly and safely.

  3. It shouldnt have any long term effects on your running.

Pointe work (especially at first) can lead to sore bruised feet, blisters, bruised toenails.    This could be very uncomfotable in your track shoes.

The stronger you are, the more you listen to your ballet teacher, and the more you pull up out of the shoes the better your feet will be.

So,  basically you might have a bit of a hard time at first, but don't sweat it.

  4. It isn't going to do any kind of permentant damage.

You will get bruised toe nails, sore toes and maybe some rubbing sores on your feet.

It takes some time to adjust to pointe shoes and to know what works best for you. So you may get some rubbing and need to change toe pads or you may need a bigger or smaller box.

  5. it should hurt your feet but that is what happens in pointe shoes. but you will have two seasons to get used to them and then you should be able to run as normal
