Will good people who aren't muslim go to Jannat?

Like Martin Luther King, or Mother Teresa? I mean this people gave their lives to a good cause? I understand that they weren't muslim, but that doesn't diminish the fact that these were amazing human beings with amazing hearts.

I'm not sure if Allah has addressed this, but if he hasn't, then do YOU think they should go to Heaven or h**l?

Opinion and if there is an answer, i would greatly appreciate it.

  1. Only Allah knows. The following verse is interesting in what it mentions:

    002.062 Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

    Al-Qur'an, 002.062 (Al-Baqara [The Cow])

    The expression:

    "any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve" could include a lot of people that we don't even consider to be believers. That is why we can't judge who is going to where.

  2. I'm actually not sure but my mother told me that good people of other religions get their rewards in their first life(before they die) and she was an islamic studies teacher so... but she also says that she can't be sure.. it's up to Allah

  3. Islam teaches that h**l is not eternal.  Therefore, in the end, however long it takes, Allahs attribute of Mercy supercedes all His other attributes, even His attribute of Justice.

    In other words, yes, all people will eventually go to heaven, even if they are not Muslim.

    This shouldn't be confused into thinking there is no benefit of going to heaven as clearly, the blessings of that are Immense.  But Heaven is not just a place where you arrive and thats it.  There are higher and lower degrees of Heaven.

    In fact that Prophet (sa) said that the first heaven will be as far from him in his heaven, as the Earth is from the stars in the sky.

    Clearly therefore, we would want to be in the higher heavens.

    love for all, hatred for none

  4. no

    they will

    get the happieness in this world

    like yea

  5. 3 conditions for Jannah

    1) Belief in Allah Allmighty and not makig any partner with Allah

    2) Righteous deeds

    3) Belief in Qayamah

    seem so simple isnt it !

    [12:106] The majority of those who believe in GOD do not do so without committing idol worship.

    idol worshiping is not just clay,or metal statues ,its much more dangerous,so dangerous are those idols that one may never find out till death,that one was idol worshipping..

    @@ wolf .. as if hadith followers didnt reject Prophet Muhammed !!

  6. Yes:

    Imran {3:199}

    "Among the People of the Book there are some who believe in God and in what has been sent down to you and what was sent down to them, and who are humble before God. They do not sell God’s signs for a paltry price. Such people will have their reward with their Lord. And God is swift at reckoning."

    Imran {3:113-115}

    "There is a community among the People of the Book who are upright. They recite God’s signs throughout the night, and they prostrate. They believe in God and the Last Day, and enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and compete in doing good. They are among the righteous. You will not be denied the reward for any good thing you do. God knows those who guard against evil."

    Maidah {5:69}

    "Those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabians and the Christians, all who believe in God and the Last Day and act rightly will feel no fear and will know no sorrow."

  7. Of all the Abrahamic religions, it seems that only Judaism believes that ALL people can go to paradise, regardless of religion, just based on being good people.

    Islam, and sadly, Christianity too, teaches that one must be Muslim or Christian to go to heaven, or else they will perish in h**l.

  8. believing in Allah as the only God, and Muhammad is his messenger is the criteria to get into Jannat inshAllah.

  9. I think they were good people but they were worshipping jesus, so all the good they did in this life is in vain, but beneficial. Having a good heart is not good enough, you also have to believe in Allah and prophet Muhammad as the messenger.

    I don't know whether they should go to heaven or h**l.

  10. No.  You have to beleive in ALLAH(SWT) and Muhamamd(SAW) in order to go to Jinnah.  Everyone knows that Muhammad(SAW) is a prophet, and yet they reject him.  Therefore they reject ALLAH(SWT) and Jinnah.  Unitarian Christians, Jews, and Sabians revealed before the time of Muhammad(SAW) will Insah ALLAH go to Jinnah as long as they were good, believed in the Day of Resurrection, believed in only one God, followed their prophets, and believed in the Angels and their holy books will Insha ALLAH be in Jinnah.

  11. The Fate of Non-Muslims in the Afterlife

    The reason that contemporary writers affected by the writings of Gunon and Schuon, such as Chittick and Gai Eaton (or such as Martin Lings, Titus Burckhardt etc.), seem to want the universal validity of all religions at any price, even to the extent of attributing it to masters like Muhyiddin ibn al-`Arabi ("in principle") or Emir `Abd al-Qadir ("he protected the Christians against massacre by taking them into his own home because he understood" [as if other scholars considered massacring them halal]) would seem to be the emotive impalatability of followers of other religions going to h**l. Where is the mercy? Would Allah put someone in the hellfire merely for worshipping in another religion besides Islam? This question is answered by traditional Islam according to two possibilities:

    (1) There are some peoples who have not been reached by the message of the Prophet of Islam (Allah bless him and give him peace) that we must worship the One God alone, associating nothing else with Him. Such people are innocent, and will not be punished no matter what they do. Allah says in surat al-Isra',

    "We do not punish until We send a Messenger" (Koran 17:15).

    These include, for example, Christians and others who lived in the period after the spread of the myth of Jesus godhood, until the time of the prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace), who renewed the call to pure monotheism.

    The great Muslim scholar, Imam Ghazali, includes in this category those who have only been reached with a distorted picture of the Messenger of Islam (Allah bless him and give him peace), presumably including many people in the West today who know nothing about Allah's religion but newspaper stories about Ayatollahs and mad Muslim bombers. Is it within such people's capacity to believe? In Ghazali's view, such people are excused until after they have had an opportunity to learn the undistorted truth about Islam (Ghazali: "Faysal al - tafriqa," Majmu'a rasa'il al-Imam al-Ghazali, 3.96). This of course does not alter our own obligation as Muslims to reach them with the da'wa.

    (2) A second group of people consists of those who turn away from God's divine message of Islam, rejecting the command to make their worship God's alone; whether because of blindly imitating the religion of their ancestors, or for some other reason. These are people to whom God has sent a prophetic messenger and reached with His message, and to whom He has given hearing and an intellect with which to grasp it but after all this, persist in associating others with Allah, either by actually worshipping another, or by rejecting the laws brought by His messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace), which associates their own customs with His prerogative to be worshipped as He directs. Such people have violated God's rights, and have accepted to go to h**l, which is precisely what His messengers have warned them of, so they have no excuse:

    "Truly, Allah does not forgive that any be associated with Him; but He forgives what is less than that to whomever He wills" (Koran 4:48).

    In either case, Allah's mercy exists, though for non-Muslims unreached by the message, it is a question of divine amnesty for their ignorance, not a confirmation of their religions validity. It is worth knowing the difference between these two things, for one's eternal fate depends on it.

  12. Yes people who arent muslims may not go to heaven, this is what i heard but in the last minute if they convert..like before dying if they accept Islam as their religion then they are definitely goin to Heaven

    And Allah said those who are good and have never heard bout Islam as a religion and practicing their religion may go to heaven, and new born babies who have died are going to heaven..

    Allah knows best..

    Anyways it's Allah who is going to decide during the day of judgment..

  13. No. Especially the people that don't even believe in jannah.

    But then again, it's all up to Allah

  14. Well I am not here to judge someone....but according to me they will go in heaven as they were good people.

  15. In my OPINION, I think they should get credit for what the good deeds they have done, and of course they NEED to believe in Allah swt. And the Last Day. But on the Day of Judgement all of our deeds, good or bad will be revealed, so the way it turns out we never know......till the Last Day that is.

  16. I don't think any of us should try to think what Allah (swt) intends to do with these people. who are we to decide whether or not they will enter paradise. there is no need to tell us that they gave their lives to a good cause because I'm pretty sure Allah was watching them. Allah has told us that His Mercy transcends His wrath. Allah is fair and will give them what they deserve be it bad or good.
