  1. 7 years I believe... or is that a myth? :S

  2. They say it wll but it dont

  3. It stays in you mouth if you sleep =P

  4. Swallowing gum is BAD

It can get stuck in your system and clog up important parts of the body.

Some people can die from swallowing gum.

  5. no myth!

Although chewing gum is designed to be chewed and not swallowed, it isn't harmful if swallowed. An old wives' tale suggests that swallowed gum sits in your stomach for seven years before it can be digested. But this isn't true. If you swallow gum, it's true that your body can't digest it. But the gum doesn't sit in your stomach. It progresses relatively intact through your digestive system and is excreted in your stool.

  6. I agree with most of the other answers...if you swallow a piece of gum occasionally or accidentally it will just pass through and out when you poo. It is an urban myth that it says in your stomach.

However, there was a report published in 1998 on three children who swallowed so much of it on a regular basis that it formed a wad that did not move along, and caused blockages in the intestines. These children were given gum as a reward for good behavior,  but they often swallowed it.

So I would rather not swallow it, but not worry if I did now and then.

  7. no more like 2 days

  8. no but it will make your butt cheeks stick together and then you cant go poo.

  9. I am a CCMA

NO because it passes through just like with other foods.

  10. Swallowing gum is EXACTLY the same as eating popcorn.
