  1. From Malpensa to the city of Milan there is a train called "Malpensa express", every 30 minutes. The train stops in "Cadorna" which is a big station with also the underground. (few stops from Duomo)

From Linate there is a bus which arrives at "Stazione centrale", in Milan. From there you can take the underground.(few stops from Duomo)

  2. the same thing happened to us. we had to clear customs first and then we were allowed to go out. coming back in we had to procede as if we were never at the airport so allow for some delays. 10 hours is very long sitting in the airport but once you are outside it goes by fast, try not to venture too far off course as things are not 100% on time in Italy and you may get stranded and miss your flight

  3. Regardless of length of time between flights, the airline cannot prevent you from leaving the airport.  As you are leaving the airpot, you will be entering the country. You need to speak to the nearest Italian embassy to determine if you need a visa (and on how to apply for one). You will have to go through the immigration, customs, and security checks on your exit/entrance to the aiport. Allow enough time on your return to catch your connection else the airline may give up your seat. Alitalia are not responsible for providing you with anything if you purchased your airline ticket knowing that there is a 10 hour wait (unless of course it was agreed they would supply accomodation when you paid for your ticket).

  4. yes anything over 5 hours you are entitled to it

  5. I'm not dodging you, but call THEM for the best answer, since they're the provider of the service (IF they provide it).
