I need an honest answer. some people say no and some people say yes, so which is it!? I want two rabbits, but i can keep them in my room only, and i reall really really want rabbits. I want two because when I'm gone, they can have a companion. Is there anything I can do to make the scent not as bad? Well besides cleaning their cage everyday?

  1. WELL.... yea anything that poops and doesn't clean it up itself stinks and you will have 2...good luck

  2. it depends if you have a fan in your room and keep the door wide open then you can release the bad air and have fresh air. Cleaning the cage everyday will be hard because you would have to go to work then come and all that jazz. And yes your room will stink up, so you should put in a garage, or maybe a kitchen. I hoped I helped!

p.s never use air fresheners near the rabbits or they can get sick and die!

  3. two will stink...think of it as twice the pee and p**p.

  4. I think your rabbit will be happy to have a friend as long as the cage is big enough. Have you tried condensed saw dust pellets from like tractor supply house i use them for my litter boxes and it keeps the smell gone.Try equine fresh it's made for horses but cheaper then the one made for bunnies.

  5. I have two they don'tt stink but I do clean out their cage regularly so i don't have to worry about them stinking.

  6. when you clean the cage out clean it with a little bit of white vinegar it deodorizes the smell. It also depends if your rabbits are spayed/neutered makes a huge difference. Also try cleaning the cage EVERY day. it's hard work but it's worth it. Oh and i don't think joining two rabbits together of any gender is a very good idea. Rabbits are Extremely territorial animals that need their own space.

    :)) -Hope i've helped

  7. no, you have 2 clean the cages daily!

  8. I love rabbits, but to tell you the truth your room will smell. you can try cleaning the cage alot! But to keep the smell away it would be about once a day. The other problem is that when you have rabbits in the room you can't spray frebreeze and such. Do you have a spot outside where you could put a hutch?

  9. Lots of fresh litter is the only way to handle this.  It has to be changed every day.  And your room is still going to smell unless you can find some way of getting fresh air circulating.

  10. Hi!

May I suggest not keeping the two rabbits in the same cage, regardless of what s*x they are. They will be fine side by side but not in the same cage. I have my rabbits outside in a barn type covered area. However I know of many people who have rabbits inside.

The answer is Yes, the rabbits do stink. I really have no answer as of making the smell less other than just constantly cleaning the cage.  Rabbits are rabbits, you can't really stop their scent.

  11. If you use a good litter and clean the cage daily, it will not smell. But if you're not willing to clean them regularly, then like any animal, it will start to smell.

  12. ok her is the deal i have 3 rabbits my room in a apartment ok and it's going to mater about how many cages you have if you have 1 then it wont stink as much if you have 2 the it will double it

  13. As long as you clean the cage regularly, there should not be an odor issue.  Use a litter box on one end of the cage and change it out every day or every other day, throw out the old litter, rinse the box, put in fresh litter and a layer of grass hay.  A full clean once a week, and you should be fine.  I have four in my second bedroom right now, when I was fostering I had up to 18 at once, all indoors.  My landlord (at the time, I was renting) said that he would have never known I had rabbits if they weren't visible all over the place because kept properly there is NO odor.  Coming from a very picky landlord, that's high praise.  Check out this site: http://www.rabbit.org/ for lots of information about keeping your rabbit indoors.

Add: If you keep two, they do both need to be altered (spayed and neutered), regardless of s*x.
