Will heater core leak outside the cabin?

Not always depending on exact design but, like the first answer, yes. It can leak out of the A/C condensation drain hole in the firewall and onto the ground.

It could be either outside only or inside only or both!  If you have to keep on adding coolant and doesn't know where it go or leak, then it is leaking on the outside.  If you could smell the coolant or see steam coming out from the windshield then it is leaking from the inside.  Either way, you must replace the heater core.

yes, you will see it leaking out of the drain hole for the a/c evaporator assy on the right hand side on the firewall.
