Will human shampoo hurt horses?

my horses have extreme bad dandruff and i got told to use anti dandruff human shampoo...is this safe?

  1. Like with people it depends on how sensitive they're skin is but usually you should be fine.  If your worried that there might be a reaction do a spot test on your horse and wait about 24 hours just to be sure.  This way if there is a reaction your horse one turn into one big hive!  Bath times always fun though...enjoy:)


  2. I wouldn't think it would be a problem. Considering how awful and chemical-y some horse shampoos smell!

    We used human bubble bath to wash our horse and pony.  They both seemed to like it and neither of them had any problems afterwards...  

  3. yes human shampoo should be fine. I use it with no problems
