  1. I very much doubt so. Mankind has been surviving (how many harsh winters?) and ice ages, nuclear fall out, pollutions, pesticides in their food, psychos and what not? No I do not think mankind will become extinct in the near future. We have the capability to travel to the stars and that is where you will find us ..........in the distant future.

  2. perhaps not in the near future, but certainly in the future.

There will obviously be many problems that can wipe us out, ranging from global warming and disease to the war for oil.

Not only this, but let me remind you that the world itself is doomed to being vaporised by the sun in just a couple of billion years. Technology cannot be possibly brought up in time for us to discover and travel to another planet.

There will be no place for us. It is in our blood; we have always waged war and we have always been jealous and hateful. It is certain that we will bring about our own destruction.

*** just a note that i am neither a pessimist, crackpot, cynic, or a communist- in fact, i am just a realist
