  1. We  expect  rain,  but  we  need  rain.  It has  already lessened strength.  I live in  Ft Worth I am not  worried.

  2. You might get some rain in the Dallas area, but that is all.  They are expecting heavy rain and high winds about 150 miles east of Dallas but Gustav will begin weakening as soon as it hits land.

  3. Put the Fox News on your tv (channel 4);  they have continuous hurricane news today.  We're expected to have 40% chance of rain on Tuesday & Wednesday, with heaviest rain southeast of the metroplex.  The wind won't be any worse than wind that we normally have here:) .... Hurricanes always weaken over land, and it will be nothing more than a rainstorm when, or if, it gets here.......

  4. a strong hurricane will sometimes bring rain to the Dallas area but it will not have the winds that cause damage.

There is a small possibility of flood damage, but it is not likely to happen.

  5. We could get a lot of wind and rain out of this, but nothing "hurricane force". They always weaken once they hit land, and DFW is too far inland to get much damage. The damage will be done closer to the coast.

I'm in Plano, and I'm not worried at all. I do have my patio stuff secured just in case, though.

  6. you never know what is going to happen
