Will i be able to hold a bird that has never been took out of the cage?

i want to buy a bird from the swap meet but the only problem is that it has never been took out of the cage but i want to hold the bird will i be able to train the bird to be held and to trust me but how help plz!!

If a bird is not hand fed it is difficult to handle. It takes a lot of patience and time. You just have to slowly introduce your hand into his cage until he is used to it. A little bit a day, so you don't frighten him, eventually hopefully you will beable to gently push your finger against his chest so he will step up on your finger.  Buying from a swap meet is an iffy deal, you do not know how healthy the bird is. I certainly would not spend a lot of money for a bird.

it all depends on what type of bird it it.

you could try you never no but it will take time for the bird to trust u so dont give up to quick good luck

Hi, it depends on what kind of bird this is and how old it is.  It may take a long time to gain its trust, like months, maybe even a year.
