  1. I'm assuming you are here legally right?

Yes you will be able to open up a bank account. I'm not sure if you can open up a credit card or anything, but almost anybody can open up a bank account.

    No, you cannot vote.

You will be able to have a job. You will just need your resident alien card or permanent resident card, and social security card or tax ID number (used in place of a social security #) if you have it already.

  2. Al you need to do is go the social security office, present your papers or passport showing you are in the US legally and they will issue you a Taxpayer Identification Number. And it is in exactly the same format as a Social number too.

  3. You can also have a credit card in your name. I am English residing in the US and I have one in my name.
