will my left eye ever get straight and see perfect after an accident that caused a cataract? i was 3 and now am 18?

Your left eye's potential vision depends upon various factors.  First, how well did it see prior to the accident?  Being three years old at the time, there is probably no record of vision testing available, so this is likely a question without a documented answer.  Second, were other parts of your eye injured in the accident.  Damage on the outside of the eye can easily be seen during a routine eye examination.  If your cataract is very, very dense then examining the inside of your eye is difficult-to-impossible just by looking.  If the inside is significantly injured then removing the cataract may NOT yield much improvement.   Using modern ultrasound testing techniques an eye doctor can help determine if the inside of the eye is intact.

    If there is no scar on the outside of the eye, then you should see a retinal specialist who would be able to perform the ultrasound test on the inside of the eye.
