Hi, i'm a 13 y.o and i'm 5'4 and 102 lbs. Will I be able to play with a senior hockey stick. I recently bought a v10 catapult with a regular flex. And if i cut about 4-5 inches off how much flex will i lose?

  1. Probably not well. 5'6" is usually considered the low end. And cutting the stick down actually increases the flex- you're going to have an incredibly stiff stick, about as stiff as a 110 flex- what a lot of 220 lb pros use.

You would be much better off with an intermediate or even a junior in terms of size and flex.

  2. Get an intermediate size stick until you grow into the Catapult

  3. just leave it

  4. Use an intermediate.  I weigh 125 and I use a intermediate.  You will lose alot of flex cutting off 4-5 inches.  Since it is regular, you will end up with a very stiff stick by cutting it down to size.  I would go with an intermediate that way you cut less and the flex will be better.  you want to use a stick that will be as stiff as possible but still flex easily on your shots.  an intermediate should be a good fit for you.  It is for me.

  5. It depends.  I am 5'6", and I have found that I am in that in-between length of needing a longer junior stick or shorter senior stick.

Besides, I typically use a shorter (junior) stick when I play forward (for better puck control), and a longer (senior) stick because it gives me a longer shaft to poke a puck away from a forward.

  6. No im 14 and 5 ' 7  125lbs and i dont even use a senior.  you should use an intermediate. you get a lot more flex if you cut that then a senior thats what i did

  7. look up the weights and hieghts for hockey ur age then determen it

  8. No you wont, stick with intermediate, trust me!! i'm 5'9 and a senior stick which is 60" comes up above my nose so you will definitely have to cut it. Every inch you cut off a stick reduces its flex by 4%. Reg flex is 87 so if you cut off 4-5 inches the stick would become 105-109 flex, which is even more than pro flex. Its really stupid cause theres no intermediate size for this stick, so my advice is to stick with a junior until you get a little bigger or find a different stick that offers it in intermediate
