  1. You should try the pizza (I didn't like it, in America pizza is soooo much better), but what you should try for sure is the ice-cream and pasta carbonara :) Have fun!

  2. yess! i liked regular u.s. pizza before going to rome, but now i cant eat it because it tastes so bad compared to italian pizza! i guess im a pizza snob now... the pizza that i had at this one place was amazing-like seriously some of the best stuff i have ever had!!! now to your questions:

~it tastes really good, but i cant really describe it...

~depends, but the kind i had was white bread

~also varies from place to place, but i think mine had mozzerella on it...

well if youre in rome i reccommend the pizza place by the vatican city (really close) i doubt thats any help, cuz im sure theres like hundreds, but you definitely need to try some italian pizza while youre there.

  3. Yes, especially in Naples...home of the original Pizza Margherita. White bread dough; fresh tomatoes, mozzerella cheese and basil baked in a brick oven.  Delisioso!

  4. h**l yea that is the best thing in italy so i would suggest trying it or spaggeti

it is made of parmasean and mosserela cheese

idk about white bread hope i helped though

  5. great stuff, eat it, but it is not a full meal like we eat it.  At lunch, OK with a salad of some type.  But more of a first, in lieu of pasta at dinner, before your entree course

  6. yes it taste so much fresher than ours

same cheese and idk about the bread but i went and it is really good and much fresher

  7. Yeah, I'd definitely say that you should try it! It's totally different, crustier and much thinner. There are the same cheeses that you can get here, but at the same time there are a lot more toppings choices that you wouldn't expect. It tastes really good — you just can't expect to be getting the same sort of pizza you'd order from Dominoes or something, as it's nothing like that.

  8. If I had to choose between the pizza and the gelato --gelato wins hands down!

  9. Pizza in Italy is a "must" you should try!

It's  usually with white bread, but I also tried the one with brown bread, and it was very good.

we don't use "cheese" on pizza (just on the "4 formaggi pizza", which can be translated as "4 cheese pizza"): we use MOZZARELLA and sometimes BUFFALO MOZZARELLA

  10. YES because pizza is amazing in Italy.

It tastes like it should taste an authenic pizza.

It's made with white flour but recenlty you can find other options in few pizzeria restaurant. However, the traditional one is made with white flour.

Fresh mozzarella is used over the pizza and it's not the thick blanket of cheese they put in the US. Sometimes buffalo mozzarella is used.

  11. It depends on where youre going for how they prepare it.

Here are some typical types of pizzas they serve:

-Marinara - tomato sauce, garlic, oregano, basil (no cheese - good for vegans)

-Margherita - tomato sauce, mozzeralla, basil.

-Cipolla - tomato sauce, mozzeralla, onions

If you go to Rome the pizzas there are typically lighter in general, thinner crusts and not as much packed on cheese. Also not as many toppings on one pie like in the US. Similar to those pizzas are in Tuscany and Liguria.

If you want thicker crusts and more cheese go to Naples.

Also if you want a really good experience go to a traditional Italian resturant where they use a brick oven. Usually these places only serve pizza for dinner though becacuse it takes longer to get the oven going and ready.

Its not really considered junk food there, its definitely not as heavy as it is here.

  12. yes the pizza is absolutely amazing .. i remember gettin magarita (sp?) pizza like everyday.. they use mozzerella cheese im pretty sure.. i'm not sure what kind of bread but whatever kind of bread it was ..was AMAZING

  13. You'd be missing out if you didn't try something that you couldn't get normally, from wherever you live!

Take a chance, eat something completely different from what you normally try. Even if you don't like it, you can say, "You know what, I thought I'd try this one dish, it sounded great, but it really tasted like the bottom of someone's shoe!" and you'll get a laugh out of it.

But at least try a pizza while you're there. =)

  14. i would say so...since italy IS were pizza originated & all

  15. not really. and pizza originated in China in the feudal era and was trade over to Italy and they took the credit for making them first.

  16. YES. it's the best you will ever have.

it's made with dough, of course and mozzarella cheese.

  17. Don't take my word for it, but I've heard that in Italy, REAL pizza has barely any cheese.

    like, none at all.

and the crust is very thin.

  18. Never tasted pizza????

Usually mozzarella (a fresh cheese made with cow or buffalo milk) is in every kind of pizza, but some kind hasn't it (like Marinara made with garlic, fresh tomatoes and anchovies).

4 Formaggi (4 Cheeses), another classic recipe, includes mozzarella, gorgonzola, smoked provola and parmigiano reggiano), but there are hundreds of variant.

Italy has a lot of cheeses, check it out.
