  1. You should not completely cut out meat.  Just stay away from red meats.  Fish is a really healthy meat.

  2. Not at all. Meat has certain vitamins and minerals that you cannot get in many other places. It's important to keep your protein intake. Just limit yourself on fatty red meats and start eating more fish, boneless skinless chicken, and pork (tenderloin and chops).

  3. Yes as long as you don't eat junk foods like a lot of chips. I have lost a large amount of weight since I became a vegetarian but that is because i eat healthier and also cut out sodas.

  4. Jessica b. Fish has mercury in it! It is the WORST FOOD for you! I did not lose weight when I went vegitarian, but I did when I went vegan! Now I am at a healthy weight, instead of being overweight like I was before. It is healthyer to cut out meat, because human stomaches are meant for a plant based diet.

If you do decide to go vegan or vegitarian, make sure you take a vitamine, so you get all the vitamins and iron you need. I take the vitamin "Basic one with iron."

  5. No necessarily.  No one food makes you fat; calories do that.  If you cut out all meat and just replace the calories with other foods, you won't see a difference.  If you cut calories (or start to burn more with exercise) then you will see a difference, meat or no meat.

Vegetarianism is not a diet plan.

  6. dude dont even think about cutting out all mean.

if you do that and you dont have enough iron in a day

you run the risk of turning anemic.

meant is on of the biggest sources of iron.

    anyways like i was saying

    dont do it.

if your trying to loose weight.

    diet,

    take smaller portions of stuff.

but dont completely cut off meat

  7. not if you put bread and other non-meats in their place.

if you eat 2000 calories a day, and remove meat, say taking out 500 of those calories, you are then consuming 1500 calories, and might start loosing weight.

if you add 500 more calories of other foods, (bread, fruit, tofu) then you are still burning the same amount, so don't expect to loose anything

  8. Meat is protein...if you work out it will turn into muscle...But if you want to stop eating meat because of animal issues you can replace meat protein with nuts and fish. Ask a nutritionist to help you with a menu if you are completely changing your eating habits.

  9. Absolutely! Even better if you cut out all animal products of your diet plan.

I lost a huge amount of weight by just going vegan. I still drink soda, still get the carl's Jr. french fries. You can get fiber and protein from fruit and veggies (it's a lot better than meat protein because farmers tend to put a lot of unhealthy hormones and chemicals into their beef, and a lot of sick beef tend to make it into the grocery stores too, so who knows how many viruses you carry if you eat beef that fell ill?).

You can just try a week of vegan diet, you'll lose 20 lbs. Then you can go back to eating the usual.

  10. If you are going to follow a vegan diet, you will need to research how to get enough protein in your diet.

Meat is not bad for you... there are plenty of types to choose from and a variety is good - fish, poultry, beef... It may be smart to go meat free one or two days a week.

"Skinnier" depends on your caloric intake and output.

(What/How much you eat, how much you exercise and genetics will determine your weight.)

  11. not unless you substitute another source of protein ..... you need protein to sustain your body.  Protein strengthens muscle tone and will help you to lose weight faster too.......

  12. Only if you're replacing it with helathy substitues.

But if you have the same diet as you have now, but cut out the meat and replace it with vegetables, tofu, quorn etc, then you will.

I'm a vegetarian and since I became one I'm healthier and lighter.

And never listen to people who say you must eat meat to live healthily --' Most nutritionists say vegetarianism and veganism are the healthiest options (especially the latter) There is a reason why vegetarians (at least in the UK) get cheaper life insurance.
