  1. I agree with Parakeet.

I mean even in the Olympics, a 5'2" girl was there.

She was Libero but thats besides the point. :)

I'm 5'5" too and have a big vertical so I play outside hitter and backrow outside too on my highschool JV team, as a freshman. So don't let height stop your dreams. Kick those tall peoples asses hah.

  2. I'm 5 feet and i played volleyball...so you're height really doesn't matter. If all the girls on the team are taller than you, you'll probably be a setter, that's a good job for shorter people

  3. ok, dont be worried, cuz in 8th grade i was only 5'3!  and ive been playing club, height doesnt matter, unless you want to be a hitter, then it kinda does... unless you can jump high!  but height doesnt matter, and if your short, you could be a setter, or the libero, ive been the shortest on my teams for 2 years, so im the setter!  just dont worry about your height!

  4. i play varsity with a 4'9 kid he owns and im 6'11 so no it doesnt matter at all yes u will play if u have heart

  5. Your not that short, I'm a freshmen and the tallest girl in my grade and I'm only 5'8". There are girls on my volleyball team that are only 5'1" so you are average height. As long as you can play your height doesn't really matter. You would probably be a good setter or outside player for your height.

  6. Yeah. I'm 5 5 and I played Middle Blocker in high school all around

  7. height doesn't really matter as to whether you can play.

it only makes it easier for you.

What really matters is how high you can jump, to compensate for your lack of height.

Or how well you can set. Many teams use their shorter players as setters.

  8. Of course! I'm only 5'3" and I am an outside hitter (trust me, there are some tall girls on our team) and a back-row setter. Being tall doesn't matter much, just how athletic you are does.

If you can jump high and have a powerful hit, you will be a hitter. So, your position on the team is based on your skills and potential - not really height.

  9. Yeah, you can play. Height doesn't matter at all. Its all skill. You might not be able to play front row unless you can jump, but you can play setter, or back row. Good Luck.

  10. It really depends on what position you play and how good the high school team is. I am 5'3 and played but i know some people the same height that didnot make it because the positions they wanted at are school were mainly determined by height.

  11. I am a 5'2 setter. It doesn't get any worse than not even being able to jump and get your hands over the net.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter because I'm the captain of the JV team and get pretty good playing time. Nobody's ever said anything to me.
