Will i computer with an intel core 2 duo support an intel core 2 quad?

Gateway GT5620. Thats the computer. I want to get it ,but i want to be able to upgrade it soon if i get it.

It depends on your mobo

Most will, depends on the motherboard. More specifically the Northbridge/Southbridge chipset for Intel cpu's. (Cpu=Processor)

The Northbridge chip for AMD's. What mobo is this? I can tell you if I knew.

Depends on your mother board. Look for the model of your mother board, put that in google, it will come up with your specs, it will say the type of processors your mother board supports.
