  1. no but remember to do one at a time...dont need to change wires unless they are bad which is rare plugs should be done every year wire maybe every 5 yrs or so

  2. Changing the plugs without changing the wires will not hurt your car but your right there changing the plugs so change the wires too.Save you from having to change the wires in the near future. it also helps to buy GOOD quality plugs and wires.

  3. No, but i would change them together.

  4. no just be careful

  5. As far as I know, unless the wires are damaged, malfunctioning, or old, you dont necessarily have to change the wires at the same time as the plugs, although if you can, it would probably be a better idea.

  6. You won't actually damage the car per-say but you may damage the original spark-plug wires while removing them. It's important to twist the spark-plug wire boots until the silicone / rubber boot breaks free from the spark plug porcelain. Whenever possible use a tool that will slide under the boot to pull the wire off. Test every wire with an ohms meter. If any show above 25,000 ohms of resistance it's better to replace the wires.

Whenever snapping new or old wires back on the plugs, coils or distributor cap, wipe a small amount of silicone ignition grease inside each boot. The boots will never stick again and it helps to seal out moisture.

  7. No.

  8. no you won't damage the car, but i do suggest that you physically inspect each wire, make sure you check for cuts in wires or loose wire heads

  9. Lousy, worn out, very old spark plug wires cause more car problems than just about anything else....why?  because most car owners seldom think of them....heat, moisture, cold, touching a hot engine, etc. can wear them out and destroy their usefulness....in general if the car is more than five years old and has 70000 miles or more on it - have the wires changed!!!  Bad wires lead to poor acceleration, bad idling, misfiring, stalling, etc and wasting of gas.

Go to autozone, advance, PepBoys and get some new ones....usually about 50-80 bucks for most vehicles.....if you are putting in new spark plugs for a tuneup make sure you change your 02 or oxygen sensor too...another rough running part to wear out.     driveway mechanic*********

  10. No, but put a lot of anti-seize copper compound on them so they don't seize up and make sure you don't cross thread them or you will be looking at a lot of money to repair it.
