Will i fail a drug test in the army?

Question

i dont smoke canabis but my dad does at of a night if i come downstaiors to get a drink and theres smoke in the room i sometimes inhale it in 2ed handsmoke.. hes stoped smokinging it in the house but i am currently waiting to get my interviews over aand done and possibly a 2 day assesment,, will i not be allowed in because of 2ed handsmoke of weed?

I doubt you'll pass, second hand marijuana smoke still contains THC, so you might fail. Vinegar is supposed to help you pass a drug test, but it tastes horrible, try it if you want, good luck.

I don't beleive it is ONLY 2nd hand smoke that is the concern here, now be honest...

they only test for high concentrations that come from direct use of the drug.  Second hand smoke will not be detected unless you're in a sealed room ingesting large amounts to the point where you feel the affects.  

In fact the second hand smoke thing has been tried by many who tested positive, but that excuse never works.

its such a small amount that it takes just three days for it to be out of your system. drink plenty of water. I used to smoke when I was in and it was not second hand either. and never came up positive

Explain this to your recruiter. You didn't smoke pot but your dad did. Say you are worried about your drug test. You can't be the only one in this situation. I am sure they know how to deal with this.

Like someone else said, tell your recruiter; he can advise you.

The general rule of thumb is "If you didn't get high, you didn't smoke it."  If you find your self feeling kind of funny or lightheaded  when your Dad fires up a spliff, then you may have issues; otherwise you should be fine.

The recruiter should be able to give you an unofficial drug test in the recruiting station, to see if you are ready to take the drug test at MEPS.

Trust me on one thing.  If your recruiter has been in the job more than 6 months, he will know what to do; and can advise you pretty well.  If he's been on the job less than 6 months, he should know to ask his boss.

I thought about your question, and your other questions, and I'm going to have to change my answer to: No.  You will not pass.

If you already had THC in your system from a time when you yourself smoked, and you are overweight, and you are exposed to second-hand smoke; it will take months for you to come clean.

If you really want to do this, you need to make some changes to your lifestyle.  At the very least, start an exercise program that is heavy on the cardio, so you can burn off the fat.  THC stays in fat longer than in other tissues.
