  1. It all depends on how big your gains are. Obviously, if you're feeding your body extra calories, you must be careful. If you have reached your muscle anabolic limit, where maximum protein synthesis occurs, any more energy put into the body will be stored as fat. But, when you look to gain muscle, this is actually OK. Fats acts as a cushion to the joints, so when lifting heavy, it protects you. Also, overnight, having a small bit of fat helps to prevent your body from dipping into it's muscle for energy, as fat is used primarily instead.

  2. Fat turns into Muscle when you do weights.

    And vice-versa when you don't!

  3. Gains are muscle, but it doesn't mean fat is being burned quickly.

Anaerobic exercise like weight lifting builds muscle. Aerobic exercise like running, swimming, cycling or rowing burns fat, so a mixture of the two is needed to get fat off quickly and effectively.

If you were big to start off with, just doing weight training will cause you to get bigger, building muscle under the fat.

  4. Yeah obviously. You burn calories when you weight lift which burns fat and the gain muscle and that muscle buns even more calories.

  5. You will do fine, ignore the lame comment that fat turns to muscle, this is absolute b*llocks.

They are two completely different things. I heard it explained once that it is like your garden shed, it will never turn into a greenhouse. It's impossible.

As long as your training is intense (4-6 times week) you will develop well on your diet. If you are worried about a small amount of fat, then put in some CV exercises, ie bike, treadmill etc ....

  6. I dont see why anyone would gain FAT instead of MUSCLE while weight training, unless your doing more eating then weight training. You sound alright really.Muscle weighs more than fat though so dont worry if you see a few extra pounds on the scale.

  7. I think some form of cardio should be added as well to help. but of course not as intense if mass gain is wanted. but the light cardio twice a week should keep the fat off.

  8. If your weight training to gain muscle, you should gain fat because you need to be in calorie surplus to gain muscle

If your weight training to loose weight, then no, and you will only gain a little bit of muscle, but it is probable that it is muscle.
