  1. this is a common misconception, the beer belly,in reality if all you do is drink beer you will lose weight, its what you eat while you drink that makes you gain weight, go look at the real alcoholics in the street, the ones that only drink all day and dont eat,, try to  find a fat one,, alcohol slows down your system so you dont burn off those calories from that pizza you just ate, my friend had a depression and drank beer for 2 months, he didnt eat because he was depressed, he lost weight,,

  2. Yes you will gain weight but as long as you don't drink too much (more than 3 points i think it is a day)and burn the calories off you shoud be fine.

  3. As a male (assuming) athlete you'd be hard pressed to gain weight from drinking unless you found yourself getting plastered every day.

Beer is no more responsible for weight gain than any other alcohol or food item.  It's calories just like anything else.

Could this affect your performance?  Possibly, boxing is just as much mental as it is physical and it seems like this has gone more to your head than your belly.  Shake it off and go beat some ***, your gut is fine.

  4. If you have two cans a day, maybe.

Do you gain significant weight after eating two cookies?

You'll be fine. Do a couple sit-ups if it makes you feel better.

  5. Actually the weight from 2 beers will be mostly water, dispute what people think, and occasional beer is good for you and has a lot of nutritional value!  Remember moderation is the key here, too much of anything is never good for you!!  Cheers!!

  6. It won't affect your boxing abilities at all, and you won't gain weight from it.

You would need to start drinking on a regular basis to hurt yourself like that.  The beer belly is sort of a myth.  I believe that the cause of the beer belly is people who sit at home and drink a lot of beer don't lead healthy lives otherwise.  What I mean is, even if they stopped drinking beer they'd still be fat.  You have someone who is not exercising and probably eating a lot of fattening food.  When you are drunk, you tend to eat more than you would normally.  You also don't make great choices, and would choose a whole large pizza over just about anything else.  Anyways, the calories in beer are generally less than a soda, so why is beer blamed for making people fat?

  7. One thing you will gain is a Beer Belly

  8. 2 beers won't do anything

if you drink 2 beers every day for a long time then you'll start to see effects, but you really have nothing to worry about

  9. yes if you continue to drink beer you will gain some weight, but i don't think it will stay, i don't think you should continue to drink beer because you should stay in training and go for the goal you want to achieve, please don't make drinking a part of your life, it will any stop you from reaching you goal.  I have never heard anything good about someone drinking, only bad things come from drinking. If you don;t drink regularily, please don't start, if will only pull you don't and keep your from reaching you goal

  10. You will gain weight from anything if you don't burn off the calories you intake

  11. I'm sorry to tell you that because of those 2 beers you will having to move up 2 weight classes( I think it the formula is one weight class /beer) as well as your punching will be slower than Canseco at his peak.

  12. you'd have to drink all the time to get fat off of beer. i go to the gym every other day and i drink very often, if not almost everyday. not to an extreme but i might have, on average a beer a day or maybe a small glass of whiskey and even not drink for four day but drink more on the weekends. your weight is based more on your daily food intake. i stay away from junk food, fast food, candy, soda, most fried foods, and i make sure my portions are not too big. if you are worried about fat percentage and you need to be at 8% or something like that, then don't drink at all. but itf you're like me and you don't care about that and work out to feel, be and look healthy then drink up.

  13. if you drink them once in a while no, but daily yes.

The expression 'beerbelly' come because beer does make people gain weight. Beer contains a lot of carbs and calories.
