  1. Your GPA is fairly low. You should have worked hard right from the start of your freshmen year...But, now it's too late to wallow in remorse.

Colleges consider your GPA, your ACT/SAT scores, the quality of your classes (i.e Honors/Advanced), and your extracurricular activities both inside and outside of school.

Overall, just try to improve your grades, send in well written essays to these colleges, and BE OPTIMISTIC. Just because you THINK you can't get accepted, doesn't mean you won't!!! Although, you'll probably want to apply to more than 3 schools.

    Good luck.

  2. Have you taken the ACT or SAT yet? Get a really high score on one of those! The higher the score the better your chances and the more likeliness for scholarships!

  3. Those three schools actually aren't that easy to get into. They reject about 40% of applicants. That makes them pretty competitive.

However, if your overall GPA is closer to that 2.9 than to that 2.6, and if you bring your junior year grades up to a 3.1 or above, and if you support that increase in grades by scoring within those schools' ranges on the SAT, and you write a good application, I really think you could get in. But if your GPA is closer to the 2.6 and it doesn't improve this year and/or if your SATs are low for them, then you'd want to consider those reach school, and have backups for just in case they don't admit you.

Other schools that I think you could be looking at include: Suffolk, Wheelock, Framingham State, Fitchburg State, Worcester State, Salem State, UMass Lowell, Regis College and Lesley.

As backups, you could consider Curry College and Dean College. I strongly believe you'd get in there.
