Will i get in deep trouble if i collect public assistance & unemployment benefits at the same time?plz help

my unemployment checks had stopped in jan of this year & then i applied for public asstistance. until now i recieved a letter in the mail that my unemployment checks will get extended another 13 weeks. my girlfriend tells me to report this to my case worker. i will lose my benefits but at least i'll have unemployment checks that pay more. she doesn't want to see me get in trouble. will i ? is this fraud? if i do this. i don'tknow.... thank you

I wouldn't play around with it if I were you. Both public assistance and unemployment are state agencies. It will show up in the system and you will be held accountable for fraud. You can't hide one from the other.

your gf is right you do need to report it to your worker or you are taking a BIG chance of getting caught and then your screwed.
