Will i get metal or plastic?

I am getting my braces off on Aug.2 and my ortho is old fashion. Do you think i will get a metal retainer or plastic?

Your orthodontist should offer both.  I think the acrylic/wire retainers hold the teeth better, but many people like the clear plastic because it is virtually invisible when wearing them.

Either should be fine however, as they both will maintain teeth position as long as you wear them regularly.  And you do need to wear them (indefinitely) as long as you want your teeth to remain straight.
