Will i get my stimulus pay if i have a state garnishment?

I have a garnishment on my state taxes(not my wages) will i get my stimulus or will it go to the garnishee?

  1. you will get your check but their will be a little adjustment on it. go to irs online calculator to have an estimate

If someone has a garnishment on child support, owes taxes, defaulted student loans, it's unlikely they will receive the stimulus check, although there are some people that have posted that thought they wouldn't get theirs and did. Don't spend it before you get it. The IRS will notify you if they have offset to pay something you owed. Check out there website and see if you'll get any information. They have been updating the websites and if you know when you're supposed to get it, check the where's my stimulus tool on the website. I've checked for weeks and finally got a date and amount of my check which was posted on the irs site 2 weeks before I'm supposed to get my check.
