  1. Some will give a bereavement leave for a close relative (parent, son, daughter, maybe out as far as grandparent). But they usually want you to notify them in advance.

Check with your HR department (or equivalent) for company policy.

  2. Most employers offer compassionate leave for this sort of thing - but it really depends on the employer how close a relation the deceased has to be. It's usually at their discretion.

  3. Depends on the contract, maybe annual or special leave, how close a relative?

  4. If you have personal time or vacation time you may. They are not required to pay you for it.

  5. Possibly, my old employer gave 3 days paid compassionate leave

  6. I have never had a job that paid me for r absence when attending a funeral. They would be required to pay you if you took paid vacation.

  7. compassionate leave -   most employers would

  8. If you have a contract that calls for being paid without working, you can enforce it.  If the company has a policy of paying without work, then you might get paid.  Most companies pay money in exchange for work because the company benefits from the work that is performed.  They tend not to pay for time spent at funerals because they receive no benefit from the funeral.

  9. Only if you have personal days coming to you. Not all companies give personal days.

  10. I think it depends on the employer and what terms and conditions you signed.

  11. Not a legal requirement. Some employers pay 1-3 days for funeral leave; that is specific to the employer in question and the specific situation. Check with HR: or ask him.
