  2. Yes. You can even change it if there's another one open you want instead.

  3. I would say its quite certain.

  4. Unless they have to substitute a plane at the last minute with a different seat layout, which has happened to me maybe once in the past decade, the seats they assign at booking are the seats on the plane.

    If you're flying on a small commuter plane it's not very full, occasionally they'll tell everyone to sit in the back half of the plane for weight and balance reasons, in which case if you had a seat in the front, you don't any more. Happened to me twice yesterday.

  5. Yes, you should - there have probably been cases where a glitch occurred in booking or an overbooking happened, but that's unusual.
