hello, i'm 13DPO, i had a BFP on saturday and a positive blood test tonight at the hospital. my last period was on July 3rd, and i ovulated on July 22nd. (day 17) anyway, my HCG level was 1,900. I've been having some very light pinkish/brown spotting, mostly when i wipe, yesterday a few visible drops on my panty liner (sorry TMI) w/ very mild lower abdominal pain. (I haven't had s*x for over five days) anyway, they did an ultrasound tonight and couldn't find a sack. he said my cervix was closed though. i'm following up w my OB/GYN tomorrow. the ER doc said i could be at risk for miscarriage becuase my HCG was "kinda low" and since he didn't see a sack. I was wondering, if my temperatures dipped today too, could this mean a miscarriage is coming? any advice? experience? am i just too early? here is my chart if it helps. thanks for your time...

  1. It seems a little early to be determining a miscarriage, but then again I'm not a doctor.  Some spotting is normal and so is some cramping.... it's your body stretching and making a "home" for baby.  I had a miscarriage in March, I never had Hcg levels checked or anything, I was 7 1/2 weeks.  Brown blood is old blood (maybe from implantation) and pinkish sounds to me like some sort of breakthrough bleeding.  It could just be the embryo burrowing deeper into the uterus.  I really hope for the best for you!!  Sticky baby dust!

PS:  the link to your chart isn't right....

  2. You are still very early at only 13 dpo, some spotting and cramping is normal in early pregnancy.  It is a good sign that your cervix is closed, it is my understading that 1900 is a high normal for 4 weeks,  the biggest thing to look for in very early pregnancy is that your levels are going up.  Make sure you get a second blood test tomorrow.  Not sure about temps, but just try to take it easy and see your Dr tomorrow. Good Luck:)

  3. good luck, lost three myself, look into progestorone it could help.
