I'm a shy/quiet person in normal day to day life, but when i'm drunk, I am a much more amicable and funloving. I'm alot more interesting and better to hang out with when i'm drunk. I dont abuse alcohol- i only drink like once a month, and when i do, i'm not puking or anything, but i wouldnt pass a sobriety test. I dont drink and drive.

My question is will I have problems when i'm older if i need alcohol to be interesting/ friendly?

  1. you might have problems as long as you Think you need drinks to be all you can be. The truth is you can be that fun person without the drinks if you loosen up a bit. been there, livin large

  2. i dont know

  3. No offense, but it seems to me that if you "need" alcohol to be funny and friendly then you might have a problem now. Alcohol simply lowers inhibitions, so the issue is when you are not drinking, what keeps you from being that way? Deep question and sorry a shallow answer, but maybe you could find something that will cause you to come out of your shell without a bottle in your hand. Take a class with other people for something that you would never do, talk to four strangers a day...

Hope it works out for you

  4. No you won't.

There is no connection between moderate social drinking and alcoholism. Even if mass media and uptight abstinence groups would like you to believer there is.

  5. everyone is the exact same way.  its the reason that people do stupid stuff when they're drunk.  it lowers your inhibitions and makes you do things you wouldn't do otherwise.  as long as you're not using it for just that purpose.  going out drinking is a lot of fun for many people because it shows a different side of you.  if you have or will eventually have any problems of that nature then you would be drinking every day.  as long as you're happy with yourself when you're sober then you have no problems.

  6. I agree with Bronco.  I drink because I enjoy the refreshing taste, and I seldom drink enough to get loose, let alone drunk.  The key word is "need."  Maybe it was just a bad choice of words on your part, but if that's really what you meant, it seems to me that that's the kind of outlook that could lead to alcoholism or problem drinking.
