My Husband and i recently found out i am not ovulating we ahave a 16 month old and are ttc again. We went to the dr and he confirmed it and put me on clomid 50mg i'm kinda scared of it

1 bc i have inter uterine growth restriction which means my uterus dosn't get a big as it should and my baby's will be on the smaller side and they try to come early

And 2 I am very sensitive to meds i get almost every side effect and useally when it says cuases drowsyness i get knocked out and sleep for like 2-3hrs.

I'm just wondering if anyone who is sensitive to med and took Clomid have had Multiples?

ps I don't want to get prego with twins cuz the servival rate will go down with myI UGR They will be too small or one will die;~(

  1. My Mum is really sensitive to meds, so I know what you go through. Even the slightest thing will send her 'ga-ga' :)

Clomid raise the chance of twins to 1 in 10 so yes, your chances are a lot higher, but if you're not actually ovulating, then those odds will go down. Still, there's a chance.

Clomid can give you nasty side effects, so you'll have to be very aware of them and maybe do the first month when you can take a long weekend from work, or take the first one on a Thursday or something. Of course, it all depends on the patient, but you need to be aware of this because it can make your mood swing from totally overly happy to downright miserable in the space of minutes. I also know women who feel nothing for the several months they were on Clomid. So it's a bit of a c**p-shoot I'm afraid.

    Good luck!

  2. i have heard that clomid is known to cause multiples.

given your condition i understand why you dont want twins or more.

a lot of twins are born early and are very small-but if given the proper care in icu go on to be very healthy babies.

if you are pregnant and think it could be multiples or even just concerned about multiples later on i would discuss it with your doctor, he or she might be able to give you a little more information.

    good luck
