Question:

Will i lose a lot of weight during ramadan?

i dont mean to be selfish or give less priority to the holy month, but im of a naturally slim build and during this summer holidays, iv been trying to gain weight and have got myself up to a decent weight for my height and i look much healthier and i feel happier that people wont comment on how "skinny" i am. i have a really fast metabolism, so i gain very little and lose quite easily.

im worried that while fasting, all my efforts will be lost, espcially as we have to fast for longer :( will i lose a lot of weight during ramadan? or will my body hold on to the little food it gets, and stay at a stable weight? i usually eat a lot for and after iftari. can anyone suggest how i can prevent losing too much weight?

i hope i dont send out the message that i have little thought for allah and more for myself. its just a question of my health.

thank you.

  1. eat a lot of carbs and fatty stuff in the morning.  (eggs, bread, protein shake, rice).  That should keep u weight on check

  2. A lot of heavier people would wish they would loose. I hope you loose little and have good health in the time of fasting.

  3. If you eat sensibly in suher and Iftar then you can lose weight easily and with that also do some exercise or walk

  4. Fasting is not about losing wieght but gaining in Iman.

Get your Islam straight or just forget it.

  5. Eat lots of carbs (bread, pasta) right before bed they turn into fat while you sleep. Thats why people who are on diets are supposed to avoid eating after 8:00. Also dairy products like cheese and yogurt. (the yogurt will also help keep you hydrated during the day.)

  6. sounds like u guys r already dreadin Ramazan :P

  7. Well as far as I see on tv... it is usually said that when you eat less, then your body begins to retain the food as energy and so it stores the fat because your body 'thinks' you won't eat again. So you do not necessarily lose weight. And when you do eat in the evening, just eat to your hearts content. Anyway, this only lasts 1 month... people are concerned about gaining weight, in your case it's the opposite. I don't thnk it should be that hard... and the older you get, the slower your metabolism becomes. So enjoy having a fast metabolism, you'll need it in the future :)

  8. I heard some people gain weight because they sleep right after they eat, and that food turns into fat.

  9. if you have a cultural family i doubt you will have a problem eating, if you dont invite yourself over to a house where good food will be served and just eat.

  10. I usually lose weight in the first week, but then gain it back by the end of ramadhan.  When you stop eating throughout the day, I think your metabolism slows down, so that's why you might gain weight during ramadhan.

  11. ooooooohh i alwayzzz gain wait.  my bf LeboNEEZ t**z only likes fatties so i make sure to eat lottttts of cheeseburgerzzzz ice cream and pizzzza!  i have to maintain my seksy seksy figure for my man!

    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... lolzzzzzzzz

  12. eat lot of oily food pakoras samosas paraths with cream on it etc. and dont stop eating during aftari. u will gain weight in one month.

  13. At the end of each daily fast, eat well and include some healthy though fattening foods. Butter, full cream milk, bread , cheese etc.Be sure to include fruit and water.

  14. Just have faith in allah and you'll be rewarded with good health, forget about everything else. being a good person and good muslim is what is important.
