Will i lose weight hitting a punching bag daily?

its only a 40 pound bag im 16 yrs old 6'2 and 250 pounds

  1. Probably not, because muscles are heavier than fat. To lose weight, you should run, do ropeskipping or any other activity that makes you sweat over a long time and stengthens your stamina. Hitting the bag might be a good addition, but this alone is not enough to lose weight.

  3. I suppose that depends on how many calories per day you consume Vs. how many you burn. Hitting the bag can be good exercise if you keep up the pace, and do it for 30 min or more. So as opposed to no exercise you've got a better chance of losing weight. The whole trick to losing weight is balancing a healthy & reduced calorie diet with physical exercise you can enjoy. If you like hitting the bag, and hate running, you're more likely to stick with the activity you enjoy.

  4. it depends on how much you sweat (the more you sweat the better) your more likely to build up back, neck, and shoulder muscles hitting a bag, for someone your size your going to need a bag anywhere from 100-150 lbs., but with bags that big make sure to protect your hands or you could permanently damage them

  5. boxing is great exercise and it will you lose weight. Don't train on your own. even if you have no plans on competing you should go to a boxing gym to learn how to punch the bag. plus there is more to a boxing exercise that hitting the heavy bag
