  3. Yes.  Reducing calories will help you lose weight.  It is simple math.   If you burn more than you take in, you will lose weight.

Of course, the healthier you eat, the better you will feel, and the less you will be inclined to go off course and overeat.

  4. Actually I think counting calories will help you lose weight.  The problem with eating sweets is it will make you hungry all the time so you'll go over your calorie limit, especially eating high calorie foods. You don't have to burn more calories than you take in to lose weight. You would have to exercise all day if that was true.  You just have to consume less than is required to maintain your current weight.  There are 3500 calories in a pound so if you deduct 500 calories from your maintenance calorie intake every day, you will lose a pound in a week.

  5. you need protein. you don't get that from sugary foods.

  6. No. Your body can run off of different fuels, but not all at the same time. Sugar is like 93 octane, and fat is like diesel. Your brain will always choose the high octane over diesel, but if you don't get the protein to rebuild your cells from real food, over time your whole body will suffer. That means: Your muscles shrinking and being replaced by fat, hair loss, weakened bone structure, your body's ability to make insulin(diabetese), which will make you tired all the time.
