  1. are u fast and coordinated?  if yes, then maybe

  2. This isn't a magic 8 ball...However, my sources say yes.

  3. Because you're tall, you may make the team. Plus your endurance building might help you. But put endurace and height aside, you need to be able to play. You need to know techniques, how to shoot properly, how to dribble and pass, how to screen, etc. Try taking up a basketball course (since it's summer) or ask an experienced player to teach you some stuff.

Keep in mind that it's hard to make the team when you have little experience: lots of other experienced freshmen (not to mention sophomores, and older people) will also be trying out for the team.

    Best wishes, and good luck!

  4. you should make it if you keep running and practicing before it starts

  5. probably just because your tall for your age

  6. It sounds like you are really motivated. Congratulations on that! I hope the coach gives you a chance.

    Keep at it.

  7. u have to be more spacific with your skills this isnt a dating service?!

  8. my dad has ben coaching basketball 4 many years and he always tells me wat he looks 4 and he always says that if u husle and just always wana play and do ur best ul probaly make but definatly keep running and practiceing

  9. yep.

  10. If it's a freshman team you are trying to make, chances are you will make it. But you have to practice. Practice your shooting and definitely ball-handling. Another thing you need to make sure you do right is your layups. Before tryouts, practice right AND left handed layouts until you can do them both perfectly. (If you're doing a right handed layup, your right leg is up and your left leg is the one that takes off from the ground... if you're doing a left handed layup it's the other way around.) Not being able to make both right and left handed layups is something that will hinder your chance of making the team.

Another thing is defense. You need to be able to play defense. Defense is not even about skill, it's about desire and  hard work. If you're playing a zone, KEEP YOUR HANDS UP. Always be active on defense. If you're on defense and you're not moving, you're doing something wrong. Make sure to move your feet as well, more of feet moving and less reaching.

You also need to work on your endurance! Work out A LOT until tryouts. It's very important. If your team has to run, do laps, do suicides, do pushups, etc, you will stand out from the rest if you are doing the best. If you are trying the hardest, the coach will recognize that and respect it a lot. You really need endurance. If you're at tryouts and you run harder and try harder than anyone else, you will make the team. It's very important to appear in shape. Chances are, the coach will have you doing a lot of running at practice. It's how he/she knows if you will try hard in the games, or if you will just get tired and slack off.

As long as you try your best and can make a layup, you'll make it.
