Will i recieve my money back from broken items off of ebay?

Question

Say if i buy a ps3 will seemed to be in working order on the website, but when i go to use it , it doesnt work through any fault of my own, will i get my money back

The only advice I can give, is when your making a big investment like a PS3, only deal with reputable sellers.  Someone who has sold 1000+ items, with a feedback of %95+ positive, is probably someone you can trust to deliver a working guarantee.  

E-bay will be of little help, if any.  They can easily discipline the seller, but getting your money back isn't as easy.  Who needs their account frozen anyway, while E-bay conducts it's investigation.
