  1. Most likely the answer is "yes", but you will need to verify this with your school. Financial aid eligibility is determined by the individual program, not the school - so a particular university or college can offer both eligible and non-eligible programs.

    For a specific program to be eligible for financial aid, the program itself must meet certain academic criteria - the program has to require a certain number of classroom hours, a certain percentage of students must regularly complete the course, and a certain number of graduates must attain employment after finishing the program.

    Every school receives something called an E-App from the Department of Education that identifies all of the programs at that school that are eligible for participation in the federal aid program. Your school's financial aid office will know for sure whether the certificate training program that you're interested in has qualified as an "eligible" program.
