Will i still receive a citation if the police officer never gave me a paper ticket?

i was cited for "disorderly conduct" and supposedly given a huge fine says the cop who pulled me over but he never actually gave me a paper to sign or a paper ticket. did i just get a scare or will i get a present in the mail?

  1. you have to receive a summons or be arrested to face charges of disorderly conduct. this cop was playing with your head

If the officer was not just giving you a scare, you could receive a citation in the mail.  The officer could bypass the citation and file a complaint directly with the court.  Then, the court can either send you a letter to appear and answer the complaint, or they could issue a warrant for your arrest.

  3. Probably not. If there was some reason, like he was out of citations, he would have told you what to expect.  

  4. Call the court system in your area and ask them if you have a court date.  If you were cited for a misdemeanor then you must go to court, whether you received a paper copy or not.  If you were not actually cited then the courts will let you know.
