Will increasing my shaft length help me eat the ball better?

I purchased the Nike Sumo2 SQ 5300 Lucky 13 and have been topping the ball a lot and also hooking it. I am increasing the shaft from 45.75 to a 46 inch shaft. Could increasing the length help me with that?? My swing speed is in the high 80's- mid 90's, is the loft too high for me with that speed or is it just about right?

Unless you are over 6'4, decrease the shaft size to a standard 45 inch, this will reduce the hook of your ball flight. Since your swing speed it 87-95's i would get a "high kick" shaft so when you swing the clubhead doesn't whip around. It will bend with your hands, making the ball fly straighter. You probably want an 8.5 if you are hitting it higher than you want, or a 9.5 if you hit the ball fine.

10.5 is a popular loft, the shaft length will s***w you up more, your hooking it because your not setting up right. Just tee the ball higher and work on your take away.

i am also 5-10 i play a 46'' shaft it makes it a little harder to control but i want the distance your main problem is that your proabally playing the ball to much off your left foot try playing it back more towards your center because what your doing is catching the ball to much on the up swing therefor topping it as for the hooking goes your breaking your wrist down and rotating them over to early or swinging to much from inside to out the exact thing as a slice but opposite work on these and you'll enjoy the tee box alot better also i would proabally rethink the13* driver might be a bit much with your swing speed you could proabally use a 10.5 to a 11.5 with a stiff flex shaft do a little research on shafts also there are ones designed to help with hooks and better launch you would be better with a mid kick soft tip shafthope this helps.
