  1. mostly I think they would better be classified as pigs, many rather stupid ones at that aka Bear Stearns, Citigroup, Merrill Lynch to name 3.

  2. Depends on who you talk to.  To politicians and the average consumers (who is 1/2 to blame), the answer is dogs.

To I-bankers -- in their eyes they will be the stars.

Personally, I think there are some bad guys on the street, but not as many as the media and others would have you believe.  I-banks provide liquidity to the markets and hence help stabilize the markets.  The same goes for Hedge Funds.  Some people in these industries will s***w up markets, but this is not indicative of the industry as a whole.

So I vote somewhere between the two choices.   They shouldn't be stars, but not all are dogs, either.

  3. I think there will always people who are too lazy (or maybe stupid) to manage their own finances, so there will always be a place for investment bankers, mutual fund brokers, etc.

  4. Hard to say how people will THINK of them. The problem is they take a percentage. They are like bookies. They get a cut no matter if you win or lose and don't really care, other than the fact losers tend to go elsewhere.
