Will it affect her money if she marries him?

My friend is about to inherit a great deal of money (around a mil) from the death of her father. She is about to marry a man that has two children from a previous relationship. My question is, if the mother of his children puts him on child support after they marry, would they consider her assets in the payments or just go off of his income alone?

  1. First of all if she is inheriting this money then it is hers whether or or they are married.  NO this would not affect the child support that the father pays.  He is responsible for support not anyone else

  2. now that the tables are turned i say prenup

  3. Tell her to get A prenuptial agreement before anything.

  4. A prenuptial should keep their finances separated.  But he should keep a job a support his kids maybe even pay a higher percentage to child support.

  5. my husband has child support payments from his first marriage. they only calculate it off of his pay. they file the wife as what they call an "injured spouse". when they do taxes, if they file together after marriage, have her make sure that she is marked as such... incase there is any back stuff, so they can only take his half of the state refund.

  6. off his income alone!!!!....her income just matters when it comes to aliomony...but i say PRENUPT
