I've heard from some people that it's not good for you if you swim right after you work out in the gym. Is this true?Is it better to swim RIGHT after working out or when you've cooled down a bit minus the sweat after working out? thanks

  1. Like any form of exercise you have to use common sense.  Basically it is a case of 'don't over do it'

  2. i used to work out then swim, cool down then steam and sauna finally a cold shower with no adverse effect.

  3. Athletes and boxer do more than this they have ice baths!

  4. Olympians do it so you can do it.

  5. I don't see a problem with it. I've been incoperating swimming into my workout for years and I'm fine.

  6. I use the gym for 45 minutes and then swim for about 30.

I do like giving myself a 10 minutes rest.

It is important you drink a lot of water before you go swimming as you would of lost so much through sweat.

I recommend having a small rest, but you have to keep moving, even if it is just marching on the spot drinking a bottle of water.

  7. I can't see why this would be bad because you are still basically exercising, and if anything I think this is a great thing to do because it stretches your muscles, just like you would in cool down exercises. I know many people that do this including myself
