Will it be O.K. if I take out my braids, then flat iron my hair?

I have individuals, I am planning on taking them out tomorrow, and was wondering if the steps I was planing on taking was O.K.

I was going to take them out, wash my hair with anti breakage shampooing conditioner, put in some sort of spray flat iron spray (protect from heat before I start), and then flat iron with Remington Wet 2 Straight flat iron. Is this O.K.? Any suggestions/ recommendations?

  1. I think thats totally ok =)

  2. yeah thats actually really good. but i suggest waiting before you straighten it for like.. 2 days after you take them out.

  3. The remington wet 2 straight flat iron is just in general very bad for your hair because it's almost like it fries the water on your hair. If you are planning on using them whilst your hair is dry then it should be okay. I had braids in and out for 2 years and i took them out, washed my hair and flat ironed it and it was fine. Just make sure you wash your hair thoroughly to get all the dead hair out then towel dry or dry with a hair dryer and a brush to get it pre-straight. Also be generous with the heat defence spray and your hair should be well protected. Althought braids can weaken hair at the root if pulled and tugged, the actual shaft of the hair should actually be healthier after being untouched by products and heat whilst in the braid.

Have fun flat ironing your hair and good luck.

  4. I have a Remington Wet 2 Straight flat iron.....and my hair is FRIED!!!!

Just make sure it's not still wet when you start to straighten it.

  5. that sounds good. dont think anything bad would happen..BUT i would reccomend letting your hair air dry or dry in a towel first, b/c even though its called a "wet 2 straight" flat iron (which i have) even though it says "oh yeah it wont ruin your hair since you can straighten it wet with this" isnt true. So dont straighten it wet it can reallyyy damage your hair. You may not think so but..it can.

just trying to help you out....(:

  6. ya it's fine just remember to wash it first like you said. :-)

  7. Yeah i see no problem in it :)
