I work at hospital and I am starting out an insurance business. I thought it will be good to tell my co-workers that they can contact me for their insurance needs but then couple of my friends at work told me that I shouldn't really mention it to everyone since people are jealous and vindictive. Do you think I should tell people about this or no. If I could get someone's advise that will be great. Thanks

  1. Starting an insurance agency can be very hard to get started and the more contacts you have when you start out the better off you will be.  Tell EVERYONE and then let them decide if they want to use your services or not.  Why would you not want to tell everyone?  I would question the people who said don't say anything.

Good luck to you in your new business!

  2. No. Forget your co workers.

Co workers get   rather  uncomfortable when  a co worker tries to get them to puchase something from them.

Also, let there be one problem, and you would  be public enemy # 1 to the rest of the hospital, and you'd lose whatever credibility the others have in you.

If you were to quit the hospital and go into the ins business, full time, then you might solicit former co workers.
