The new moonbase will serve as a genebank and rebuiliding center. Way to go NASA, way to go.

  1. yeah the easy fire wood is used up & the water is starting to taste bad, so its about time to break camp & move on just as humanity's been doing for the past 100,000 years or so.

the only problem is where to next? I see smoke on every horizon. maybe its time to eliminate the neighbors again. put on your war paint!

  2. We need an all out war. Basically a cleanup. We'll destroy everything and forget about everything we've discovered. We'll enter into a new dark age with war lords ruling the world. It'll be great.

  3. Well, it would certainly be more fun...

  4. The "destroyed planet" will easily rebuild and repopulate itself once we are gone.

The lessons of the past twenty years have shown that if we respect the natural areas they can heal themselves.  Rivers, lakes, and oceans have done wonders coming back, once pollution and over harvesting of resources are curtailed.

Of course, a "destroyed planet" would be  the perfect pallet, with us out of the way, mother nature could run wild and life would return.

Look back at the major events in the past; the last ice age, before that the meteor that hit the Yucatan.  Both these examples turned life forms into new ones.  After the meteor, dinosaurs disappeared (and evolved into birds).  At the last ice age the large mammals like mastodons and sabre tooth tigers died not from the cold but the loss of food.

We actually have fossils of both just south of here.

Thinking we can repopulate with the survivors on the moon? I don't think they can wait long enough for the planet to be habitable, better to wait for Venus to move farther away from the sun and colonize that.
