Does anyone think that with gas prices today, that 1,000 dollars for a road trip from VA to OH will be enough to travel on,including the price of food on the road? It is a 9 hr drive and I have a mini sized suv. '02 ford escape. Or should I put aside more money?

  1. that sounds like more than enough.

  2. When I do a round trip from Georgia to Tennessee I tack about $180 that is gas & 2 meals. I am a the type that don't plan on trouble unless I am going on long distance trips(International)

So for your Va. to Oh. trip $1,000 should be enough and it well be extra for any trouble that may happen.

  3. I would say that's plenty. My family travels back and forth from Kansas City to Northern Indiana, and we only have to stop to fill up twice (once fully, one half). It's an 11 hour drive, and we always rent a van so we can go together.  You'll be fine...unless you stop to eat at some really fancy restaurants on the way. =]

  4. depends on how many people are in the car and if they're being their own food or not. if it's just you $1000 should be fine. to be on the safe side though i'd save up a little more if i were you. good luck, have fun, drive safe.

  5. That sound like plenty!!

You should be fine! Why not look around for gas prices too!!

    Good Luck!
