  1. No.  Just examine the article carefully.  A lot of clothing is made for Levis (for instance) in Vietnam.  And also there are "off brands".  Don't be afraid of these.  They will save you a bundle and look just the same.  But yes, you can find "real" brand name stuff there, because that's where the "real" stuff is made.

  2. You would find most signature Luxury items are readily available in Vietnam since the economic boom in Vietnam has fueled  the    buying power of Local Vietnamese in purchasing those said items.

You will find shops by Louis Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli ,Etc   . You would find them usually in hotel 's like Sheraton Towers and Caravelle in Saigon and along Le Loi St rest assured they would be originals.

But when you start buying in markets like Benh Tahn let the buyer beware.

  3. You can find most of the brand names in HCM that are available in developed countries. Don't expect to pay any less if you are buying from shops or departments stores.

The markets are generally full of fakes of various quality.

Many of the big international brands are made in Vietnam. There are some markets that sell factory seconds or factory extra-runs at a fraction of the price. Ask around when you arrive. Most locals know where to buy them.

  4. .."they say" a lot of stuff is boggess in vn.. i would worry too much about that, i wouldnt worry too much about brands.. buy what you like , buy what fits.. if you have time got to a tailor and get something nice custom made.. i have rarely had troublr w/ any clothing i bought in vn eccept for "leather" sandels.. which fell apart [ to the delight of all my viet friends] instantly !

  5. yes you can. but it'll still be expensive just not as expensive as it would be here. There will be ALOT of knock offs. you'll see alot of brand name stuff in indoor malls. Don't buy stuff at places outside most likely those stuff will be fake. it'll be extremely cheap, though.
