Will it be ok for my son to wear jeans during dinner on carnivel cruise?

On Carnival you choose if you want to eat formal and at dinner blue jeans are not recommended however if he wears a nice polo of button down i don't think they will send you away. They wont expect a teen or younger to wear a suit just not to sag jeans for sure. There is also a cafeteria which is very good and very casual that he can choose. Happy cruising :)

It's fine to do so on regular nights.  On formal nights it's not recommended but you might be OK.  

My husband wore jeans on our recent cruise on Carnival.  Even on formal night.

However, they were "nice" jeans (clean, uniform color, no rips), he wore a pressed button-down shirt. And of course he's extremely handsome.  Okay, I'm biased about that last part. =)  

FYI, warm weather, shorter cruises are generally more casual.  If you're in Europe, Alaska, or on an 8+ day cruise, the Maitre d' may be more strict on formal night.  (Of course, he could just eat up in the casual restaurant on that night -- even shorts are always OK there.)

As long as its not a formal night.  You might want to get him a pair or Khakis for the other nights.  If you dont want to go the formal route..........dont eat in the formal dining rooms......

Please do not have your son wear jeans to the dining room.  It looks very bad/tacky.  Khakis or some other kind of slacks would be the best thing for the "smart casual" nights.  You will see a few people with jeans on, but they look completely underdressed...even on the casual evenings.

Jeans are really not the best choice.  Why not have him wear khakis or chinos?  They are comfortable and look a little better than jeans.  A polo shirt is the better choice over a tee shirt, too.
