  1. Do what you want but as a European I would recommend against it. It seems like a radical and socially controversial idea to wear a tankini instead of a bikini. I don't know it just seems wrong somehow.

  2. yes unless it is raining

  3. Ya wear what you want...I've been to a few different countries there and the Europeans won't pillage you if you dont wear a bikini.

  4. you will be fine, wear whatever you like, no one will look at you funny for wearing a tankini at all! Have a good time!

  5. In Europe you my wear what you want on the beach, from topless with string-tanga to pants and t-shirt, so don't bother about a tankini.

However in some historical towns and cathedrals they would not like you to wear such type of clothing.

  6. I'm not European but have spent time in several European countries. At the beaches, it really ran the gammut. Wear what you want as long you feel comfortable.

  7. If you do not feel happy in a bikini, why not wear a swimming suit?

I have done so ever since I was a young teen, because I was a little overweight (or more than a little at times) and felt much happier for it.

If you want to tan on the places covered by your swimming suit, bring both and change between swimming (and walking around) and laying down to tan.

In some parts of Europe it is even usual on the beach to wear as much or little as you like, ignoring the rest of the people, down to just a string in some places, to nothing at all in others.

In swimming pools, and on some beaches near the towns, more strict rules apply, needing a bikini top as well as string at least. But even then every style is seen, often on people who are not build for it.

  8. If you mean at the beach, then no problem.  With many beaches you will see all different clothing on the beach, bikini's, swimsuits, shorts & T-shirts (or even more clothed), and at the opposite topless (and in naturist beaches, even nothing at all).  So no, a tankini won't make you stand out.

If you mean wearing it away from the beach/pool then indeed it might rise some eyebrows as it is not really common attire for e.g. visiting museums, shops etc (and especially not religious sites)..... but I'm guessing you mean at the beach/pool :0)
