I'm new on Ebay. I'm hoping to make my first sale on Ebay.ca. After I fill out the form for the product im selling, and move on to the shipping information, will it cost me ANYTHING?I dont know anything about the flat rates & stuff like that. You can tell me all the costs I have to pay, not pay or maybe pay.

And After you filled out the shipping form...does UPS send you the supplies (box, tape, bubble wrap, etc.) and in how many days?

Thanks.

  1. You purchase & pay for shipping supplies yourself.

That is what the "Handling" portion of "Shipping & Handling" covers.

So you need to charge about a dollar more than the shipping comes to for your handling costs.

Depending upon the weight of what you are selling  invest in either a postal scale (about $30  & up) or some bathroom scales ($50 & up) so that you can figure out what the shipping costs will be.

  2. I sell on ebay, and I don't pay any of the shipping charges the best way to ship is USPS, not UPS, USPS is cheaper most of the time and you don't have to schedule pickups. Flat rate shipping runs around $9.95 but most of the time anything less than 3 lbs. is $4.95and you can order your shipping supplies from USPS boxes ,labels, at no charge. The only time you will pay for shipping is if you don't charge enough so if in doubt, do as I do and use the shipping calculator  if you have any more questions just let me know

  3. ship via usps, it's much cheaper!

  4. You usually pay for shipping. You can however charge for shipping and handling. Which means you can charge also for the time and supplies it takes to ship. Just be sure to  state how much you will charge in the auction so that there are no questions later. You can have UPS or FedEx ship you supplies or you can pick them up. You can calculate the cost of shipping by the package weight.  You should check out shipping internationally or specifically state that your shipping rates do not include international shipping. You can have the buyer email and ask about international shipping before they bid. That will give you time to investigate your cost and determine how much you will charge the buyer. Good Luck.

  5. Your buyer pays what ever shipping you have listed in  your auction.

You can use the shipping calculator or actually box it and calculate the postage to your furthest distance (if staying within Canada).  International (US) will cost more and if you inflate your shipping, less chance of buyers.
