Will it ever be against the law to be on the cell phone while driving?

In my country, to be on the cell phone while driving is against the law. What is acceptable is to use a hands-free car kit (example Bluetooth) when one needs to call.

I think states are balking at it because even the cops

do it.  and it's hard to enforce.

It's against the law here in Tennessee but when you see the police, judges and county officials doing it, you think where is the judgment it's c**p! The police and other officials can get away with it why not the people, I seen a woman that pulled over to answer her phone a cop pulled in behind her and gave her a ticket for using the phone while pulled over. Now tell me that isn't some b.s.

I hope so as well as using any type of phone in a car while it is  moving.

It is in many cities in Michigan and a Law just past in California making it illegal.

Each year more and more states and countries pass cell phone bans while driving (although hands free devices are usually still allowed).  I think it is only a matter of time before most of the states adopt the same law.
